New video! The use of CISE in SARex 2024 explained

In October 2024, maritime authorities from Slovenia and Italy and EU Agencies EFCA and EMSA joined efforts to test the information exchange through the CISE Network. This exercise brought excellent results which are now presented in a short, animated video.

The CISE communication exercise was one of the activities conducted within the scope of the international Search and Rescue exercise (SARex-2024) on 1 and 2 October 2024. In this particular activity, the following maritime authorities successfully exchanged information between their maritime operations centres using CISE: the Slovenian Maritime Administration and the Italian Coast Guard, and the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) and the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA).

Now, the exercise components and its outcomes are briefly explained in this animated slideshow:

More information about the CISE communication exercise during SARex 2024 can be found in the previously published news item here: https://www.emsa.europa.eu/news-activities/item/5317-operational-exercise-with-cise-during-sarex-2024.html

Background information:

The SARex was one of components of the EFCA-led Multipurpose Maritime Operation in the Adriatic Sea named MMO Adria 2024. EMSA coordinated the organisation of a joint SAR exercise in the North Adriatic Sea area involving maritime authorities of three coastal states, namely Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, and supported by EMSA, EFCA and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex).
