2024: Safety and surveillance
In 2024, to support Member State administrations and industry in the sustainable transition, we published studies on the safety of hydrogen and ammonia as fuel for ships, as well as a study on the safe bunkering of biofuels.
We continued to maintain and improve EMCIP as the reporting platform for Member States under the Accident Investigation Directive, as well as the MED portal for marine equipment products that conform to EU standards.
And, as the Equasis database enters its 25th year, work continued to renew the platform with dynamic statistics.
In 2024, our ROV service continued to grow and develop, supporting Member States in accident investigation and other tasks
In addition, throughout 2024, we worked on the second edition of the European Maritime Safety Report – EMSAFE – which will be launched in 2025.
During 2024, we delivered more than 16,000 Earth Observation images to an ever-growing user base of Member State administrations and international organisations.
Our RPAS work continued in 2024, with 9 operations and over 1200 deployment days
