The Kick-off Meeting for the EU funded project “Preparatory measures for the participation of Enlargement countries in EMSA’s work " took place on 3 May 2018 in EMSA’s premises. The event was attended by the coordinator for the project from DG NEAR, EMSA officials and representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey.

The participants were introduced to the contract, the administrative arrangements and the new activities to be developed in the area of capacity building and tools. The representatives of the Enlargement countries presented their views and needs related to the activities to be implemented under the project and provided an update of the European legislation that had already been transposed or would be transposed in the coming years. Based on the fruitful discussions, the participants agreed on the priorities for actions to be implemented within the framework of the project during its period of duration 1 May 2018 – 30 April 2020.
