General objective
The objective of this market consultation is to enable EMSA to gather more in-depth knowledge of the market structure, proven technical solutions and players related to the provision of the RPAS maritime surveillance services from patrol vessels, under the conditions defined in the Guiding Requirements. For that purpose, EMSA invites interested RPAS operators and manufacturers to respond to the questionnaire below.
Subsequently, and dependent on the results of this Market Consultation, the objective will be to procure RPAS services with beyond visual line of sight capabilities, low footprint and with 2 to 4 hours of endurance. Moreover, the nominal functions and tasks onboard the vessel shall be minimally affected by the installation and usage of the RPAS. Such a low logistical footprint will also facilitate the installation on small/medium size patrol vessels.
These RPAS services will aim at supporting Coast Guard functions from patrol vessels, including verification of respect of maritime legislation (e.g. by measuring the Fuel Sulphur Content of the burnt fuel via the SOx, CO2 and NOx concentration in the plume of vessels).
