On 17 and 18 September 2020 a live-broadcasting training event “Enhance your knowledge on the STCW Convention and Code” took place from EMSA premises. The training was carried out within the bilateral activities’ component of the EU funded Black and Caspian Sea regions Project.

The training event was attended by 18 participants from the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia and the "Turkmendenizderyayollary" Agency of Turkmenistan.

EMSA lecturers gave an overview of the legal basis and focused particularly on topics such as quality standards systems and monitoring, programme and course approval and monitoring, on-board training, examination and assessment, certification and endorsement, revalidation and implementation of amendments, amongst others.

Each theoretical session was followed by work group case-studies to further enhance the knowledge and skills of the participants.
