Under the framework of the EU funded SAFEMED IV project, EMSA staff, in collaboration with REMPEC, delivered a training on MARPOL Annex VI and EU Legislation in Algeria, from 8 to 9 October 2019. 48 Participants from the Algerian Maritime Administration attended the 16-hour course.

EMSA organised this training to gather insight into issues related to Nitrogen Oxides, Sulphur, Ozone Depleting Substances, as well as EU Dimension about Port Reception Facilities, Sulphur content in marine fuel and Green Houses Gases.

This training course was also an opportunity for the Algerian Maritime Administration to present the future plans for ratification as well as the current arrangements and their implementation, which contributes significantly to facilitate the ratification process and bring them in full compliance with its provisions.
