The EU funded SAFEMED IV project supported the organization and the hosting of the the 1^st Mediterranean Coast Guard Functions Forum Secretariat Meeting of 2018. The meeting was held on March 21 at EMSA premises, in Lisbon, with the participation of the Secretariat Members of France and Morocco, both chair of 2018, and EMSA representatives as observers.

The agenda included provisions for the following Secretariat Meetings, the Plenary Meeting, the MCGFF Web Page and best practices from other Coast Guard fora.  The members of the secretariat agreed on the next Plenary Meeting which will be hosted in Marseille, France, from 27 to 28 June 2018. 

A second secretariat meeting will be held at EMSA premises on May 2018 in order to further define the objective/s of the Forum and share views and opinions among the members of the secretariat.
