This week the final phase of the Curriculum for Port State Control Officers, organised by the EMSA Academy, is underway. 30 participants from across the European Union, Canada, and the United Kingdom have gathered in Lisbon for this four day in-person section of the course, which represents a critical step to ensure maritime safety and compliance standards remain robust all over the Paris MoU area.
This presential course builds on the foundation established in the online programme which began in January of this year. Designed to meet the Paris MoU training policy, it offers participants the chance to improve harmonisation and practical knowledge, both relevant steps to uphold their professional credentials as Port State Control Officers.
EMSA is pleased to welcome such a diverse group of professionals from multiple nations to this essential programme. Their commitment underscores the importance of consistent training in the maritime sector, which is a central point for ship safety in European waters as well as for our environment.
This part of the curriculum highlights practical inspections, compliance updates, harmonisation, and networking, and runs until Thursday, 6th of March.
