On 14 January, EMSA co-hosted with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), a technical workshop on Animal Welfare inspections on sea livestock vessels. Experts from Member State authorities participated in-person and remotely. The workshop was the opportunity for DG SANTE to share information on upcoming projects, digitalisation initiatives and exchange views on best practices regarding inspections. EMSA delivered a training session on the THETIS-EU Animal Welfare inspection module and discussed with Member State authorities possible future evolutions to the inspection database.
