Albania and Montenegro are the two IPA beneficiaries that have adhered to the pilot project on AIS sharing and have accepted to share the maritime traffic information got through the established AIS national network.

Phase 1 of the pilot project implies sharing the information between projects’ beneficiaries; the phase 2 expand the sharing on reciprocal basis to all EU and non-EU countries participating to the regional SafeSeaNet server for the Mediterranean (MARE∑). Albania and Montenegro are participating to phase 2. Twenty-seven operators from the two countries have access to the maritime traffic information
