The overall objective of the training was to provide theoretical and practical knowledge concerning the role and functions of the VTS operators, according to the guidelines set out in the IALA Recommendation V-103/1. The model course comprised seven modules, each of which dealt with a specific subject representing a requirement or function of a VTS Operator, namely Communication Coordination and Interaction, Legal Framework, Provision of VTS, Nautical knowledge, Equipment, Human Factors and Emergency situations.

Ten representatives from the Project’s beneficiary countries Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Türkiye and Ukraine successfully completed the 10 days training.
