EMSA Academy developed a Common Core Curriculum (CCC) for Safety Investigators which was made available to BCSEA II Beneficiaries through the course “Principles and techniques for Maritime Safety Investigators”.

The course was designed to provide the participants with the necessary individual competencies for carrying out duties associated with the conduct of accident/safety investigations by flag States. It aims to afford to the learners the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to conduct the relevant investigations professionally, efficiently and effectively and to the required standards benchmarked practice. The first edition of the CCC for Safety Investigators commenced in March 2024 with an overall duration of 7 months with a planned five days in-person session in September. 14 participants from BCSEA II Beneficiaries enrolled for the course.
